R36S First Boot & Setup Guide

What's in the box

  • R36S handheld console
  • Micro SD card(s) (pre-installed in the console)
  • USB-C charging cable

First boot

  1. Charge for at least 1 hour before first use (the light turns off or changes color when full).
  2. Hold Power for 3 seconds. The first boot can take up to a minute — that's normal.
  3. Pick a system from the main menu, then choose a game with the D-pad and press A to start.

Two card slots

  • TF1 holds the operating system. Don't format or remove it while the console is on.
  • TF2 (if your model has it) is for extra games. After inserting a card, restart the console.

Saving your game

Many systems support save states: press Select + R1 to save and Select + L1 to load (exact buttons can vary by emulator). Always exit a game with Select + Start before powering off, or your progress may be lost.

Troubleshooting

  • Stuck on the boot screen: power off, re-seat the TF1 card firmly, power on again.
  • A game won't start: try a different game in the same system; some titles need a specific emulator core (press X on the game for options).
  • No sound: check the volume buttons on the side, and that headphones aren't half-plugged.
  • Battery drains fast: lower the screen brightness in settings.
